Seth Wiener, Managing Partner, University Capital Group LLC & WPM Capital

Seth’s 20 year career has spanned working as an Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley, and founding team member of a few Silicon Valley startups. Some notable deals he was a part of are IPO’s for Brocade Communications, Loud Cloud and UPS, Secondary Offerings for Ford Motor Corporation, URS, Accenture. The combined aggregate value of his equity deals is $4.2BB in buy-side/sell-side transactions.
After spending twelve years as an I-Banker, he left to pursue an opportunity working in Private Equity. This role offered him the chance to develop some of his own ideas. While growing and building companies within the PE firms existing stable. Beginning in 2006, Seth co-founded 6 companies and to date he has had 3 successful exits from these endeavors. 

As a portfolio manager for LionChase Private Equity Seth managed a team of 3 full time analysts and 3 Business Development Professionals. His directive was to meet the stated portfolio objectives that were specific to finding, clean technology specific to wind farms that was significantly under valued.  This required extensive  research and  conducting significant due diligence on all sourced investment opportunities. He is credited with developing and establishing a partnership between Advanced Energy Systems (AES) and LionChase. His track record from the deals he led and managed at LionChase produced an IRR of 30%. The portfolio he managed focused only on cleanenergy specific to optimization of Wind based power generation, and subsequent energy storage.

Seth graduated with an undergraduate degree in political science and economics with honors from the  University of California Santa Barbara, and he received a Masters in Business Administration from the Lucas School of Business at San Jose State University. Seth is an active member and volunteer for The Surfrider Foundation and in his free time Seth and his family can be found Surfing at one of California’s many amazing  beaches.
